The City of Burlington, Vermont:
1.We currently do not require, but do encourage vaccines.
2. We currently do require proof of vaccination.
3.The State's and City's emergency orders were lifted last night. Now we require masks only under certain conditions/situations required by other entities such as airports or health care settings or where a City employee is in a private residence or business that requires them.

The following statement from OSHA (which is interpreted to include requiring the COVID19 vaccine) is worth reviewing and considering:

QUESTION -RETALIATION

What can I do if my employer fires me or takes other action against me for raising workplace safety and health concerns related to COVID-19?

ANSWER

Section 11(c) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (29 USC 660(c)) prohibits employers from retaliating against workers for exercising a variety of rights guaranteed under the law, such as filing a safety or health complaint with OSHA, raising a health and safety concern with their employers, participating in an OSHA inspection, or reporting a work-related injury or illness. Additionally, OSHA's Whistleblower Protection Program enforces the provisions of more than 20 industry-specific federal laws protecting employees from retaliation for raising or reporting concerns about hazards or violations of various airline, commercial motor carrier, consumer product, environmental, financial reform, food safety, health insurance reform, motor vehicle safety, nuclear, pipeline, public transportation agency, railroad, maritime, securities, and tax laws.

Dear IMLA COVID-19 Working Group:

Here is a link to view the google doc spreadsheet I am compiling on the questions listed below regarding vaccine / mask requirements. I decided to create this as a google doc so that it will remain live and I can continue to update it if others want to share their requirements (or lack thereof) and have not done so yet. So feel free to check the link to see if there are updates.

In case you are curious, of the 41 responses received so far, nobody is mandating vaccines. The other answers are a bit more nuanced, but very few are requiring proof of vaccination (some are pursuant to state law). More of you are requiring masks for unvaccinated employees but this is also varied and nuanced as the responses reflect.

Mandated vaccines
* if so, was it for new employees only or current as well?;
* if so, was it for all employees or just certain positions?;
Required proof of vaccination; or
Still require masks for employees?

Dear IMLA COVID-19 Working Group: Here is a link to view the google doc spreadsheet I am compiling on the questions listed below regarding vaccine / mask requirements. I decided to create this as a google doc so that it will remain live and I can continue to update it if others want to share their requirements (or lack thereof) and have not done so yet. The other answers are a bit more nuanced, but very few are requiring proof of vaccination (some are pursuant to state law).
