Dear IMLA Immigration Working Group:

I wanted to alert you to two upcoming webinars to help provide some resources to members in the area of immigration law.

First, on 1/31 at 1 pm eastern, IMLA, NACo, and NLC are jointly hosting through the Local Government Legal Center an educational / non-CLE webinar to go over the new executive orders, policies, laws, etc. in the area of immigration as they relate to local governments. This webinar is open to local government officials and attorneys so it is not specifically geared to a lawyer audience, but we think it will be helpful for a broad overview. To register, click here: https://www.naco.org/event/impacts-immigration-executive-orders-local-governments.

Then, on 2/18 at 1 pm eastern, IMLA will host a webinar that will go over the prior Byrne Jag litigation from the first Trump administration, legal issues surrounding compliance with detainer requests, legal implications of 8 USC 1324 and 8 USC 1373. This webinar is free for IMLA members, but CLE is only offered for Kitchen Sink Subscribers. You can register for that webinar here: https://imla.org/webinar-schedule/ (scroll down to 2/18).

Also, there's still plenty of time to sign up for the Kitchen Sink if you haven't already: https://imla.org/kitchen-sink/.
