Subject: Climate Contracting Educational Program (Monday, September 19 - Free/Virtual)

Hi -

I wanted to send along information about a free/virtual program on climate contracting, hosted by The Chancery Lane Project, a pro bono project that I have been working with for the last two years. The Chancery Lane Project is a world-leading collaboration of lawyers and sustainability professionals working pro bono to support the transition to net zero. The resources include nearly 120 100 climate clauses that are free, open access and ready to use or adapt, and can be inserted into agreements and contract precedents. Many of these climate clauses can be adapted for use in the public sector.

In particular, following its huge success in the UK, The Chancery Lane Project is bringing the basics of climate contracting to Climate Week NYC 2022, the biggest climate event on earth, with a program titled "Climate Contracting: First Steps," a pioneering online panel discussion taking place this Monday, September 19, from 1 - 2pm EDT. To attend, register herehttps://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__chancerylaneproject.org_events_climate-2Dcontracting-2Dfirst-2Dsteps-2Dat-2Dnew-2Dyork-2Dclimate-2Dweek_&d=DwMFaQ&c=euGZstcaTDllvimEN8b7jXrwqOf-v5A_CdpgnVfiiMM&r=GQKHQm3UsKfLBDZc6zrTo3VVshCPWsxDWyyc2rKyv4Y&m=JoIKOpv8wmPWGlC__lGfzzyLKgbqlAU6PGOwchp23gA&s=xotmC2ptIPt6HZtUXuu3mwwYHOnINFKJK2aWn3r77O4&e=.

Climate Week NYC is the time and place where the world gathers to showcase amazing climate action and discuss how to do more. On day one, The Chancery Lane Project will introduce lawyers and professionals to the basics of climate contracting - so you can start using climate clauses in your contracts. Now.

Senior lawyers from Salesforce will share real-world insights on how they are using TCLP’s climate clauses to decarbonise their supply chain. The expert panel will then hold an open discussion on rewiring contracts for climate action. Followed by a special focus on what impact the Inflation Reduction Act might have on climate contracting.

This 60-minute session will end with Q&A from the online audience. You will also have the opportunity to find out how you can get involved with helping to create, adapt, or review TCLP’s climate clauses for use within the US.

The legal system has a unique opportunity to enable solutions to the climate crisis. Join thousands of lawyers in the US, the UK and around the world who are using climate contract resources to offer solutions today to their clients. As we edge closer to the 1.5° Celsius Paris Agreement goal, you can start using contracts to take real-world climate action. Now.
