A member has a question regarding the CARES Act funds and hazard pay for certain government employees, specifically, Public Safety. They are discussing the opportunity to provide "hazard pay" to their police officers and firefighter/paramedics under provisions of the Act. They are wondering how other jurisdictions are handling this. Superficially, has anyone drafted a policy on it? If so, are you considering any other classification of employees other than public safety? How are you implementing it? How are you calculating it? Thanks very much for your responses on this.
